AURORA | An elderly man suffered possibly fatal injuries in a car crash Friday morning in Aurora.
According to Aurora police, the crash happened around 10 a.m. at East Second Avenue and Potomac Street.
Police said an elderly man in a Ford station wagon was traveling south on Potomac when he tried to make a left turn on to eastbound Second Avenue.
The Ford struck a northbound Nissan, causing the Nissan to slam into a nearby unmarked police car and the Ford to slam into a pole.
Police said the man in the Ford was seriously hurt and may not survive his injuries. The woman in the Nissan and the two officers in the police car were not hurt.
The elderly man was not wearing a seatbelt, and police said he likely would not have been hurt if he was wearing one.

i know of another elderly man who really shouldn’t be driving and also does not wear his belt….maybe a new sensor requiring weight on the seat and belt extended for the ignition to work? 🙁
