AURORA | A 20-year-old woman who was killed after a rollover crash in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 11, in Aurora has been identified as a Denver woman.
Avelyn Taylor, of Denver, was ejected from the SUV she was riding in with three others about 1 a.m. Saturday, July 11. She was trapped beneath the blue 2003 Chevrolet Blazer when police and emergency rescue officials arrived at the scene of the rollover crash in the backyard of the home at 1494 South Kenton Street, near East Florida Avenue.
Taylor was extricated and taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The other three occupants of the vehicle were also hospitalized with less-serious injuries.
The driver of SUV has been identified as 25-year-old Michael Hardiman, of Aurora. Aurora Police’s Traffic Unit is expected to file charges related to the rollover crash following completion of the investigation.
Police have not released any other information regarding the cause of the rollover crash, including whether speed, alcohol or drugs may have been contributing factors to the rollover.
