CENTENNIAL | A Denver man was sentenced Thursday, June 30, to almost half a century in prison for a string of assaults and burglaries in Aurora in 2014.

Clarence Eugene Howard, 24, of Denver, was convicted of 13 charges — including burglary, robbery and assault — in March by an Arapahoe County jury. District Court Judge Frederick Martinez handed down Howard’s sentence: 48 years in prison.

Howard assaulted women in September 2014 after breaking into three townhomes in the Shores condo complex near South Park Road and East Lansing Way. The break-ins and assaults also resulted in Howard stealing items from the homes.
