AURORA | Aurora police arrested an 18-year-old Denver man Sunday night in connection with a robbery and nonfatal shooting in northwest Aurora, authorities said.
Julien Weeks was faces charges of first-degree assault, robbery and violating a court order, Aurora police spokesperson Joe Moylan said in a statement,
Weeks is being held in the Adams County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond.
About 7 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a 21-year-old man who had driven himself to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. At about the same time, officers were responding to a report of shots fired in the 2200 block of Ironton Street, according to police.
Officers determined the two reports were connected.
Detectives with the Aurora Police Department’s Robbery Investigative Unit and Gun Violence Suppression Team, along with patrol officers, canvassed the area for evidence, Moylan said. The investigation led to Weeks being identified as a possible suspect.
Weeks was arrested without incident about 8:30 p.m. later that night
The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office will file any charges linked to the shooting.
