AURORA | The Arapahoe County coroner’s office on Wednesday, May 25, identified the man killed in a pickup truck Monday morning, May 23, on Yosemite Street as Melvin Castellano, 32.
The coroner’s office said Castellano died from a gunshot wound to the chest. His death has been ruled a homicide.
Police said officers responded around 2:25 a.m. to the intersection of Yosemite Street and East Richtofen Place on a report of shots being fired in a parking lot.
There, officers found a truck that had crashed and the driver suffering an apparent gunshot wound.
The man was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not released any information about possible suspects.
