AURORA | Aurora police shot a man Tuesday afternoon near South Buckley Road and East Mexico Avenue, police said.
In a brief email this afternoon, a department spokeswoman said the officer involved was injured but OK, and the condition of the wounded man was unclear.
Media reports this afternoon said the officers encountered a machete wielding man and shot him after he hit an officer with either a machete or a knife. The man died but the officer wasn’t seriously injured, reports said.
The incident happened in the 1600 block of South Buckley Way.
