Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputies say the truck’s driver, Dashane McKee, 34, of Centennial, was drunk at the time of the crash and is facing vehicular homicide charges.

The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on Reservoir Road south of East Quincy Avenue. According to the sheriff’s office, McKee was traveling south on Reservoir in a white Dodge pickup truck when he crossed the median and slammed into a Chevrolet Monte Carlo traveling north.

Three vehicles  were involved in the crash and the driver of the Monte Carlo was trapped in the wreckage and pronounced dead at the scene, Undersheriff David Walcher said. The deceased man’s name has not been released.

Walcher said another northbound vehicle was involved in the crash, but investigators have not yet determined if that vehicle was hit by McKee’s or if it collided with the Monte Carlo. Nobody in that vehicle was hurt.

All three people in the Monte Carlo were hurt, Walcher said, but investigators say surviving passengers do not appear to have life-threatening injuries. Investigators say McKee was alone in his vehicle.

McKee is being held in the Arapahoe County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond. He is due in court Tuesday morning.
