AURORA | Crews pulled the body of a man from Cherry Creek reservoir Monday morning, ending a search for the man that spanned three days.
The man, whose name has not been officially released, was found in the reservoir at Cherry Creek State Park around 11 a.m., said Becky O’Guin, a spokeswoman for South Metro Fire Rescue.
O’Guin said park rangers found the body Monday morning using sonar and divers went down and pulled the body above water.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and the Arapahoe County coroner will conduct an autopsy, she said.
The man was boating on the reservoir Saturday evening when witnesses said he went into the water to free an anchor that wouldn’t come free. He never resurfaced.
