AURORA | A 2-year-old girl is on life support after getting her head stuck between a car’s window and door frame after being left in the car with four other children.
Police said the toddler’s mom could face charges after she left the child with four other children, ages 10 months to 10 years, in her car Tuesday night while she went into a house in the 15400 block of East Louisiana Avenue.
When the mother returned to the car, police said she found the girl unresponsive and rushed her to a local hospital.
Police said it is unclear how long the mom was in the house and the children were left in the car without an adult present.
Detectives from the department’s crimes against children unit are investigating, police said, but it could be several weeks before prosecutors make a decision about charges.
