Rishabh Sodani, 2024 Congressional App Challenge Winner

AURORA | Code red.

Aurora area students have until the crack of midnight Thursday to register and submit their entries for Rep. Jason Crow’s 2025 Congressional App Challenge, a nationwide coding competition hosted annually by the U.S. House of Representatives.

The challenge encourages middle and high school students in the 6th Congressional District to develop original software applications in any programming language and on any platform.

And, there’s no experience necessary, congressional office officials say.

Participants compete against other students within the congressional district for a chance to have their app recognized nationally in Washington.

All submissions must be completed by 11:59 p.m. local time today, Oct. 30. Judging will take place in November, and district winners will be announced in December.

Winning teams will be invited to Washington in the spring to present their apps at #HouseOfCode, a Capitol Hill celebration where students meet their representatives, connect with peers from across the country, and see their apps displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building.

Past winning projects and competition rules can be found at www.congressionalappchallenge.us.

Parents and teachers with questions can reach out directly to Team Crow’s App Challenge coordinator Nicole Hamilton at nicole.hamilton@mail.house.gov or call the district office at 720-748-7514
