AURORA | The City of Aurora is offering a special deal on electronics recycling from March 31 to April 11 for residents only.
The recycling event is slated for 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at Pedal Point LifeCycle Solutions, 3251 Lewiston St., Suite 10, which was formerly Techno Rescue.
“As a reminder, electronics tossed in the trash not only cause serious environmental problems but also are banned from landfills in Colorado,” a statement from the city said. “Environment Aurora, a citywide effort to think green, supports the city of Aurora’s electronics recycling events.”
The special event offers discounted pricing for Aurora residents but does not include business customers.
“Most electronic items — desktop computers, laptops, cell phones, tablets, gaming equipment, consumer electronics and similar — are accepted,” the statement said.
Each carload of electronics is $5, including LCD monitors and floor-model printers, and cash or debit/credit card payments are preferred.
The following additional fees will be applied to recycle these items:
• Flat screen TV (LCD/LED; all sizes): $10 each
• CRT monitors/CRT TVs (all sizes): $20 each
• Console, projection or DLP TVs: $40 each
The city has a complete list of items that are not accepted at AuroraGov.org/Recycle.
“Pedal Point LifeCycle Solutions, which is certified for electronics recycling and data
destruction, wipes and physically destroys all data storage media to protect the
identities of those who are recycling responsibly,” the statement said.
A similar event is slated for July 7 to 18 and Oct. 6 to 17.
