AURORA | Aurora police are warning local businesses about five people suspected in 139 shoplifting incidents that investigators say resulted in more than $60,000 in stolen merchandise across the city.
Police are asking the public for information about the suspects and details about any other possible criminal activity.
The suspect accused of being most prolific is Christina Lynn Zamarron, 46, of Denver. Police say Zamarron is a suspect in 48 shoplifting incidents in Aurora dating to October 2022. The incidents targeted beauty supplies, home improvement, clothing, groceries and home goods stores and are linked to $16,242 in stolen merchandise, Aurora police spokesperson Joe Moylan said in a statement.
Police also say that Zamarron was operating a fencing operation in which she received “shopping lists” from customers, stole requested items and resold them at a discount for a profit.
Zamarron has been arrested by Aurora police 16 times since 2007 and has misdemeanor and felony convictions dating to 2021 for theft, narcotics possession and assault, police said. She was most recently arrested Aug. 15 on theft and larceny charges, along with active warrants from Greenwood Village for shoplifting and Arapahoe County for possession of narcotics equipment. She has since been released from custody.
Christina Diane Rico, 51, of Aurora, is wanted on five Aurora police warrants involving theft charges, second-degree burglary and false reporting to police. She is a suspect in 35 shoplifting incidents dating to June 2024 at book, clothing and beauty supply stores, involving $7,556 in stolen merchandise, police said.
Rico has been arrested seven times in Aurora since 2014. Her prior convictions include escape from parole in 2017 following a 2014 conviction for obstructing an Aurora police officer.
Demonte Rodgers-Jenkins, 23, of Aurora, is wanted by Aurora police for charges of theft of $5,000 to $20,000 and attempted theft of $2,000 to $5,000. Police said Rodgers-Jenkins is a suspect in 16 shoplifting incidents dating to December 2025 at area big-box stores, involving $23,401 in merchandise.
Police said Rodgers-Jenkins has no prior contacts with Aurora police and no prior convictions in Colorado.
Christopher Mondragon, 31, of Aurora, has an active Aurora police warrant for theft of $5,000 to $20,000. He is a suspect in 15 shoplifting incidents this year at clothing and home improvement stores, involving $7,507 in merchandise, police said.
Mondragon has been arrested twice by Aurora police since the beginning of last year and has two prior convictions for obstructing Aurora police officers, according to police.
Manuel Castanuela, 34, of Aurora, is wanted on three Aurora police warrants involving theft and obstruction charges. Police said he is a suspect in 25 shoplifting incidents dating to October 2024 at clothing, home improvement and grocery stores, involving $8,638 in merchandise.
Castanuela has been arrested seven times by Aurora police since 2021 and has two prior convictions for theft and narcotics possession, police said.
“These are not crimes of opportunity,” Aurora police Chief Todd Chamberlain said in the department’s news release. “These are organized, deliberate acts by prolific, repeat offenders who have made a pattern of stealing from our local businesses.”
Chamberlain said the losses affect businesses as well as employees, customers and the broader community.
“Protecting our businesses is just as important as protecting our residents,” Chamberlain said.
Detectives are seeking information about the suspects’ whereabouts and any additional criminal activity. Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
