The man was not identified by police, and no officers were injured during the standoff.

Police Sgt. Chris Amsler said a woman called 911 at about 5 a.m.  to report that a man with a shotgun was in her front yard. When officers arrived, they found the man in a vehicle a few blocks away from the home. It was unclear whether the woman knew the man.

Amsler says the man drove back to the home and held police at bay for about 45 minutes. He was shot when he pointed the gun at police.

The man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Amsler did not say where the suspect was hit.
