AURORA | An unidentified man was critically injured after being shot by an acquaintance Saturday afternoon in northwest Aurora, police said.

Police were called to an apartment building at 1568 Macon St. at about 2 p.m.

“Officers were called to a chaotic scene where they discovered a man who had been shot,” Aurora police spokesperson Matthew Wells-Longshore said in a statement. “Investigators believe the suspect, an acquaintance of the victim, shot him multiple times before fleeing the area prior to officers’ arrival.”

The man was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said they are aware of the identity of the suspect but are not releasing it at this time.

Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.
