AURORA | Aurora police have changed their requirements for physical fitness tests for officer candidates after questions were raised over the ability of women to do push-ups and other physical tests.
The department now says its tests are based on activities more closely related to police work.
The former exam included a push-up test, a sit-up test and a timed run.
The new tests will require candidates to pursue a suspect while running through an obstacle course and move a 150-pound dummy five feet.
