AURORA | Aurora police are puzzled after a hit-and-run driver stopped to pick up a 14-year-old victim and took her to a convenience store where he dropped her off.
Authorities say the girl was trying to cross a busy street on Thursday when she was hit by a car.
The driver stopped, picked the girl up by her coat and drove away.
Police say the driver pulled into the parking lot of a convenience store, let the girl get out of the car and then drove away. They say the man may have intended to take the girl to a hospital and then panicked.
The girl suffered minor cuts and bruises.
