AURORA | One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting Wednesday morning, May 11, in southeast Aurora, police said.

Few details about the incident have been released, but Aurora police said in a tweet that officers investigating an armed carjacking were involved in a fatal shooting early Wednesday morning.
Police said the suspect’s vehicle spun out, shots were fired, and the suspect is now dead. No police were injured, police said.
The incident happened in the 7700 block of South Quatar Court, according to police.
Police said two adult females inside the vehicle were detained but not arrested.
In a statement Wednesday, police said Chief Nick Metz will release further details at a press conference Thursday afternoon.
“There is a lot of information that still needs to be gathered, and interviews that need to be conducted so we can provide the most accurate information,” the statement said. “This process does take a little bit of time.”
