AURORA | A shooting Wednesday night left one man dead in north Aurora, police said.
The shooting happened shortly before midnight in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 1364 Xanadu St.
Police said that when officers arrived there on a report of gunshots, they found a man who had been shot sitting in the cab of a red Dodge pickup truck. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A witness said they saw a black man running from the area after the shooting, but after searching the area with two police dogs, investigators were not able to find a suspect.
The victim’s name has not been released.
