AURORA | Police say they have identified and arrested a 17-year-old boy investigators say shot and killed a 22-year-old man Nov. 19 along a street in northwest Aurora.
The boy, not identified because of his age, faces charges of first-degree murder and unlawful posession of a handgun by a juvenile, according to Aurora police spokesperson Agent Matthew Wells-Longshore.
Officers were called at about 10 p.m. Nov. 10 to a green-space median on the northeast corner of Beeler Street and East 17th Avenue after reports of a shooting.
“Witnesses said two men were arguing when the suspect pulled out a gun and fired several rounds at the victim,” Longshore said previously. “The victim, who appears to be an adult male, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.”
Police later said the man, 22, died from his injuries. The suspected shooter left the scene before police arrived.
The boy’s arrest was announced Monday.
