AURORA | A 20-year-old Aurora man is facing several charges after police say he ran into a police officer and another man before speeding away Sunday.
Conner Donohue, 20, was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail early Sunday morning on vehicular assault, hit-and-run and DUI charges, according to a statement from the Colorado State Patrol.
The incident started that morning when an Englewood police officer pulled over a Ford Mustang for a traffic infraction near Broadway and Centennial Boulevard.
While the officer and the Mustang driver were standing outside the vehicles, a Nissan Pathfinder headed south on Broadway sideswiped the police cruiser and struck both the officer and the other driver.
The officer, whose name has not been released, and the Mustang driver, Kevin Montoya, 20, of Littleton, were both taken to Swedish Hospital with serious injuries.
After the crash, the driver of the Nissan, who police later identified as Donohue, fled the scene and was later arrested by Littleton police.
Donohue remains in the Arapahoe County Jail on a $500,000 bond. He is due in court Tuesday morning.
