AURORA | Aurora police last week arrested a 52-year-old man accused of possessing more than 400,000 images and videos of child sexual abuse material following a joint investigation with the FBI, authorities said.

Michael Ray Lozano was taken into custody Thursday by the department’s Fugitive Apprehension and Narcotics Unit and faces eight counts of felony sexual exploitation of a child, according to a statement by Aurora Police spokesperson Joe Moylan.
Federal agents were first alerted to Lozano in 2023 after detecting attempts to download child sexual abuse material in Aurora, Moylan said. The FBI later executed a search warrant at Lozano’s home, seizing “numerous devices” that investigators said contained “several terabytes” of illegal files.
Because Lozano lives in Aurora, the FBI transferred the case to the Aurora Police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit so charges could be pursued in state court.
Lozano was charged in Arapahoe County District Court and released in lieu of $5,000 bond, police said.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could receive a reward of up to $2,000.

Should his name and image be published before a conviction?
What if someonelse was responsible?
When I suddenly had to leave on an emergency blood transport, myisiting friend, Kent, called some 1-900 sex lines from my home telephone.
When confronted he said he hung up quicky before any charges, but I received two.
