DENVER | A state senator is being criticized over her remarks on racial disparities.
Sen. Vicki Marble of Fort Collins said Wednesday that African Americans have health problems, but she understands because she believes the South has the best barbecue chicken in the country. The comments were made during the legislature’s Economic Opportunity Poverty Reduction Task Force meeting.
According to the Denver Post (https://tinyurl.com/kxrwy4k ), Rep. Rhonda Fields of Aurora, who is an African American, said she was offended by the remarks.
Marble later issued a statement saying her remarks were not meant to be disparaging.

For heaven’s sake, why do people have to take offense of the truth? African-Americans do have medical problems such as sickle-cell and diabetes. That is a medical fact. The south does have some of the best BBQ chicken. This a fact. What is there to be upset about?
