AURORA | A house-garage fire damaged an Aurora home Tuesday night, displacing two adults, but firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading into the home and onto neighboring residences, Aurora Fire Rescue officials said.
The fire was reported at about 5 p.m. in the 18300 block of East Cornell Place after neighbors called 911 to report seeing and smelling smoke coming from an attached two-car garage.
Firefighters responding to the scene could see smoke in the air and the fire in the garage. Crews entered the house, brought the fire under control and searched the home, determining that no one was inside.
The fire was contained within 20 minutes of the initial emergency call, officials said in a statement.
Authorities said the blaze caused fire, smoke and water damage inside the garage and smoke damage inside the home.
No injuries were reported. Two adults were evaluated by paramedics at the scene but did not require medical treatment.
Fourteen fire and medical units responded to the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Thank you, Aurora FiRescue.
Keep fire door from garage to house closed. Takes 1-hour to burn through that door. By that time AFD should almost have the fire out.
