AURORA | A woman is facing battery charges after police say she kicked an officer who tried to write her a ticket Tuesday for leaving her car running and unattended.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was taken to jail on battery, resisting arrest and leaving her vehicle unattended, police said on the department’s official Twitter feed.
The incident happened in the 600 block of South Oakland Street during one of the department’s annual “puffer” crackdowns where officers look for drivers who leave their cars running and unattended on cold days.
It’s against the law to leave a car running and police say unattended vehicles are often stolen and sometimes used in other crimes.
