AURORA | Aurora police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a man July 18 in west Aurora.
Caterrius L. Martin, 33, was arrested by Aurora police’s major crimes/homicide unit, department spokeswoman Officer Diana Cooley said Thursday, July 21. Martin is to be charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a man around midnight Monday, July 18, at 10782 E. Exposition Ave. near Havana Street.
The Arapahoe County coroner’s office identified the man slain as Michael Ealy Jr., 30. He died of multiple gunshot wounds, the coroner said.
Martin is being held without bond at the Arapahoe County Jail. Police and jail officials are not releasing Martin’s mugshot, citing the ongoing investigation.
Martin appeared in court Wednesday, July 20, where he was advised of the charge, said Vikki Migoya, a spokeswoman for the Arapahoe County district attorney’s office. He is due in court again Friday, July 22.
No other parties are being sought in the shooting.
