AURORA | After a number of requests from residents, Arapahoe County wants to have “the talk.” They’re asking for feedback about allowing chickens and bees in backyards in unincorporated Arapahoe County, as more and more people are asking if they can keep those critters in their yard.

County commissioners asked county staff this year to research how other communities are zoning the bees and backyard birds and draft a set of regulations for allowing the animals.

A survey can be completed by March 16 at bit.ly/beeschickens. Questions about the survey or the topic can be directed to the Planning and Zoning Division at 720-874-6711 or zoning@arapahoegov.com.
