AURORA | An unidentified man was injured after being shot in the leg Wednesday night by another man during an argument outside a west-central Aurora apartment complex, Aurora police reported.

Police were called to Willowick Apartments at the 10600 block of East Jewell Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. after reports of a shooting there.

“According to the victim, there was an argument with the suspect while standing outside prior to being shot,” Aurora police spokesperson Agent Matt Longshore said in a statement. “No one is currently in custody but officers are following up on leads.”

The man was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for his leg wound, which police said was “non-life-threatening.”
