Chelsea Marie Yasser, 21, “sustained multiple sharp force injuries,” the coroner’s office said. Her death has been ruled a homicide.

According to Aurora police spokeswoman Crystal McCoy, police were called to the parking lot of the Burlington Coat Factory store at 1200 S. Abilene St. on Sunday night for a welfare check. They found a woman with a life-threatening stab wound in her neck.

The victim died shortly after being taken to a local hospital, and police are investigating the death as a homicide.
