AURORA | Aurora police arrested a man Saturday suspected of killing two people in Dallas on Aug. 15.
Abey Girma, 37, was arrested Saturday after a woman told police he had bothered her at the St. Mary Ethiopian Orthodox Church on East Colfax Avenue and later at her home near East Mississippi Avenue and South Chambers Road.
According to Aurora police, the woman recognized Girma as the man shown in Texas media reports about the Aug. 15 slaying of an Ethiopian couple.
Girma was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail on the Texas warrant and is due in court Tuesday, according to jail records.
Dallas police issued a warrant for Girma in the killing of a couple who ran an Ethiopian restaurant. The bodies of the pair, Yayehyirad Lemma and Yenenesh Desta, were discovered last Wednesday morning on the front porch of their home.
An affidavit says Girma believed the couple disrespected him.
