Football players from across the Aurora Public Schools and Cherry Creek School districts are set to test their strength at the annual Hog Wars event to be held at 9 a.m. on July 8 at Rangeview High School, 17599 E Iliff Ave.
The annual competition features linemen from APS and Cherry Creek football teams taking part in strength events like a team tug of war, a team fire truck push, a tractor tire flip and a “farmers carry,” where competitors must lug 140-pound tanks back and forth. Now in its eighth year, the event organized by Rangeview football coach Dave Gonzales is a showcase for APS linemen and their coaching staff. Winners receive the Hog Wars Trophy, as well as bragging rights.
