Advertorial #4:
Every movement begins with a purpose.
For Color of Fashion, that purpose has never been simply producing runway shows. It has always been about people.
Color of Fashion was founded by Alicia Myers and Samantha Joseph on the belief that fashion should reflect the richness, diversity, and creativity of the communities it serves. What began as a vision to create a more inclusive fashion industry has grown into a nonprofit organization dedicated to opening doors for aspiring designers, models, beauty professionals, photographers, stylists, and creative entrepreneurs.
At its core, Color of Fashion exists because talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.
The organization was born from a desire to create the opportunities its founders did not always see themselves. They recognized that while creativity has no boundaries, access, representation, and meaningful platforms often do. Rather than waiting for change, they decided to build it.
That vision became Color of Fashion.
Today, the organization’s mission is to create meaningful opportunities through education, mentorship, and immersive fashion experiences that empower people to discover their confidence, embrace their individuality, and realize they deserve a seat at the table. Every program, partnership, and runway production is designed with one goal in mind: creating lasting impact through creativity and community.
Representation transforms culture.
Those three words guide everything Color of Fashion does.
Throughout the year, the organization partners with schools, museums, nonprofits, and community organizations to provide educational workshops, mentorship opportunities, and hands on learning experiences that introduce young people to the many career paths within the fashion industry. Participants explore design, styling, branding, production, photography, marketing, creative direction, entrepreneurship, and more while learning directly from experienced professionals.
For many participants, Color of Fashion becomes much more than an event. It becomes a place where confidence is built, relationships are formed, and dreams begin to feel attainable.
For co-founder Alicia Myers, that mission is deeply personal.
She knows what it feels like to walk into spaces where she was underestimated before she had the chance to introduce herself. She has experienced discrimination that made her question whether she belonged, not because of her talent or work ethic, but because of how she looked and who she was. Those experiences became the catalyst for creating something bigger than herself.

Color of Fashion exists to build the kind of industry its founders wish they had experienced. One where diversity is not a trend, inclusion is not performative, and opportunity is not reserved for a select few. Every runway, every partnership, and every young person mentored is a reminder that representation has the power to change lives.
For co-founder Samantha Joseph, success has never been measured only by the collections presented on the runway or the number of guests in attendance. Success is measured by the lives that are impacted.
“If even one person leaves our event believing in themselves more than when they arrived, then we’ve accomplished exactly what we set out to do.”
That philosophy continues to shape every Color of Fashion experience.
Season VI is the organization’s latest expression of that mission. Guests will experience nationally recognized designers, immersive storytelling, educational programming, and meaningful opportunities for connection during a weekend that celebrates creativity, culture, and fearless self expression. Featured designer House of Aama brings a powerful perspective rooted in history, heritage, and storytelling, reflecting the kind of thoughtful artistry Color of Fashion is committed to elevating.
While the runway is unforgettable, it is only one part of the story.
Every ticket purchased helps sustain a nonprofit that is investing in the next generation of creative leaders. Every partnership expands access to education and mentorship. Every attendee becomes part of a community that believes fashion is more than what we wear. It is a powerful tool for connection, self expression, confidence, and lasting impact.
Color of Fashion is building more than a fashion organization. It is building a movement where people feel seen, valued, and inspired to dream bigger.
Because when people are given the opportunity to belong, they discover what has been within them all along.
