AURORA – The beer accolades for Colorado just keep on coming.
Food & Wine magazine’s new roster of America’s top beer gardens includes the still relatively new Lowry Beer Garden in Denver. The 8,000-square-foot building where “Colorado’s legendary craft beer industry is on display” is located next to the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. The farmer’s market at Lowry will be open on Tuesday evenings starting in June. Details at lowrybeergarden.com
Meanwhile, if you’ve been searching for an art museum show that will really hold your attention, head to Beer! Boulder’s History On Tap at the Boulder History Museum. The exhibition begins before Prohibition and lingers in the era when the city became the epicenter of America’s homebrew and craft brew revolution. Afterward, more research may be necessary. We suggest visiting one of Boulder’s newest breweries such as Fate Brewing Co., J Wells Brewery, and the upcoming Sanitas Brewing. Information: boulderhistory.org.
Finally, the Associated Press reports that Vail-based Brewski Bones is now marketing sustainable Beaver Balls, a wholesome dog treat created from spent grains from the nearby Crazy Mountain Brewery.

ON THE MENU
One of the best things I’ve tasted lately was the pozole at El Rico Dicho Menuderia Y Taqueria, 10400 E. 6th Ave. The huge bowl of traditional chile oil-dotted pork broth teams with tons chewy, corny-y posole and fall-apart chunks of pork that you can spritz with lime juice and wrap in warm corn tortillas. There’s few better ways to warm up and fill up on a blustery day.
