Online school enrollment grows in Colorado, some want more accountability

Enrollment in Colorado’s online schools is 50% higher than before the pandemic, with families saying they appreciate the flexibility and personalized approach. Yet we know very little about how well these schools perform for students, and there is little state oversight. The school that grew the most is one of eight online schools chartered out of the Byers district, where online students account for 90% of all enrollment. And the schools generate so little data the state can’t issue a quality rating
