FORT COLLINS, Colo. | Colorado State University is suspending further acquisition of fetal tissue from vendors implicated in a congressional inquiry.
CSU President Tony Frank says the university bioethics committee will seek alternatives to aborted fetal tissue sources to allow key research to continue.
According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan (https://tinyurl.com/ozskfqu ), CSU was targeted by social media posts earlier this month as part of a national campaign following the release of videos by the Center for Medical Progress, a nonprofit group that monitors medical ethics.
The CSU decision comes after an anti-abortion group released covertly recorded videos of Planned Parenthood officials discussing procedures for obtaining tissue from aborted fetuses for research.
