Daaaaaaang, Aurora. Back at it again with the KidSpree. That’s right, loyal readers, the city of Aurora is resurrecting its beloved festival for all things tots this weekend. This year’s bill is chock full of typical entertainment offerings, including performances by the Bennett School of Irish Dance, The Top Hogs and local rockers from the School of Rock. The Aurora History Museum will also be a hub of activity throughout the afternoon with several activities planned, including some sort of “Mayor Bowling” game. We think we could find more than a few local denizens interested in knocking over representations of former heads of this grand burg.

Yoga & Beer 10 – 11 a.m., June 11, Dry Dock Brewing Company – South Dock, 15120 E. Hampden Ave. Drop-ins are permitted, but pre-registration is encouraged at auroragov.org/recreation. Visit the Dry Dock Facebook page for more information.

Is there really a better way to start off Saturday than with gentle stretching, breathing exercises and calming suds? We think not. All three of those offerings will be featured in the city’s new fitness partnership with Dry Dock Brewing Company, aptly and simply titled “yoga and beer.” No confusion there. For a measly $8, get an hour of rejuvenating yoga practice followed by discounted Dry Dock oat sodas. Because there’s nothing like cleansing your body only to instantly refill it with liver-straining poison. Plus, this is a great chance to get double your money’s worth in the yoga pants department: Utilizing the athletic elasticity for the yoga, and the tummy absorbing stretch for bloated beer bellies.

Cruzin’ Havana Visit www.onhavanastreet.com for full details.

Enjoy a slice of automotive Americana during Saturday’s annual Cruzin’ Havana festivities. Sweet rides, free music and exotic foods will be focused on four festival sites: The Stampede, Gibby’s, Havana Machine and the parking lot for Concorde Career College. Mike Naughton Ford takes this year off for its redevelopment work. There’s no fee to attend or do the poker run.

COMEDY

Jay Pharoah 8 p.m. June 9, 7:30 and 9:45 p.m. June 10 – 11 at Comedy Works Larimer Square, 1226 15th St., Denver. $25. www.comedyworks.com

While Darrell Hammond is enjoying new life beyond the announcer’s booth at “SNL” thanks to the rise of Donald Trump, the real reigning king of impressions is Jay Pharoah, whose stand-up show is just as potent as his vocal masquerades.

ONSTAGE

By The Waters of Babylon Curtains at 8 p.m. June 10 & 11; 6 p.m. June 12. The Edge Theatre, 1560 Teller St., Suite 200, Lakewood. Free parking. www.theedgetheater.com or 303-232-0363.

Commissioned by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival where it premiered in 2005, playwright Robert Schenkkan’s “By The Waters of Babylon” looks at the life of Catherine, who becomes sheltered and withdrawn after the death of her professor husband and the gossip surrounding his demise. She finds something of a kindred spirit in Arturo, a Cuban refugee writer-cum-gardener who is hired to tend to Catherine’s unwieldy backyard. Both of them are struggling with the ghosts of their past lives.

Forever Plaid Curtains at 7:30 p.m. June 10 & 11; 2 p.m. June 12. The Lakewood Cultural Center 470 S. Allison Pkwy., Lakewood. Tickets start at $20. Call 303-987-7845 or visit performance now.org for more information.

Nothing like a little musical tragedy to inspire a tragic musical. Opening at the Lakewood Cultural Center this weekend, “Forever Plaid” centers on an eponymous four-piece band from the 1950s teeming with goofy, golly-gee-willikers antics. But before the foursome can get their big break to emulate their idols the Hi-Lo’s and The Crew Cuts, their lives are cut short by a fatal bus accident. Sobering, silly and filled with pesky ear worms, “Forever Plaid” should make for a folly-filled trip to the theater.

The Boys Next Door Curtains at 7:30 p.m. June 9 & 11. No performance on Sunday. The John Hand Theater/Colorado Free University, 7653 E. First Pl., Denver. Tickets are $22. Call 303-562-3232 or visit firehousetheatercompany.com.

Once able to lay claim to the title “the most-produced play in America,” Tom Griffin’s “The Boys Next Door” is ready for its final weekend at the Hand. Andrew Uhlenhopp, Greg West, Luke Terry and Joe Von Bokern star as the production’s featured foursome, and Peter Marullo assumes the role of Jack.
