AURORA | No matter the weather, free ice cream is on Tuesday night in central Aurora, but the Aurora Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet and Aurora Singers  free rose garden concert is iffy, concert organizers said.

The concert and ice cream social are slated tonight at the Gardens on Havana from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Weather forecasters are predicting a good chance of showers, possibly heavy at times.

The annual event is sponsored by On Havana, and the ice cream, frozen yogurt and frozen custard has already arrived.

“Even if it is raining, please stop by to get your free ice cream because we had to place the order for the ice cream, frozen yogurt and frozen custard today and cannot cancel the order,” according to On Havana chief Gayle Jetchick. “Of course, if it is pouring rain at 6 p.m., the concert will be cancelled.”

The concert and free ice cream is set for the rose garden plaza, along the back row of stores south of Dick’s Sporting Goods at The Gardens on Havana, at East Mississippi and Havana.

The event is the last of the season in On Havana’s summer concert series. The first 440 people get free ice cream, frozen yogurt or frozen custard. Viridian is offering free bottled water.

On Havana officials had anticipated announcing the People’s Choice winner for their Art 2C on Havana Exhibition this summer.
