AURORA | Three medals from last week’s Great American Beer Festival will be calling Aurora their home.

Both Coda Brewing Co. and Dry Dock Brewing Co. took home medals from the 2015 GABF in Denver last week, adding to the Aurora breweries’ already impressive trophy collection.

Dry Dock won bronze for their Apricot Blonde in the American-Style Fruit Beer category and their Pilsner won bronze in the German-Style Pilsener category.

Coda’s Via Chicago took home a silver in the American-Style Strong Pale Ale category.

And because today marks the first day of October, be ready for the pumpkin brews.

At Two 22 Brew in Centennial, the Boo!22 Pumpkin Ale will be released Saturday. The brewery is also hosting a pumpkin painting party to coincide with the beer’s release.

And Mu Brewery on East Colfax Avenue has jumped back into the pumpkin-beer game with their Pumpkin Peach Ale, a brew that made headlines earlier this year in response to a Budweiser Super Bowl ad that irked some craft brewers.

Also at Mu, after weeks of trying to name their Thursday happy hour, brewer Nathan Flatland has settled on a name: Quench your Thirst-day.

At Dry Dock, the Double Hazelnut Brown Ale will be unveiled today at North Dock near Interstate 70 and Tower Road.

In a statement announcing the beer, Dry Dock said the “full-bodied Double Brown Ale was aged in whiskey barrels for 10 months, imparting notes of vanilla and oak. It has added hazelnut, which creates its earthy, nutty complexity and caramel, toffee-forward aroma.”

It will be available Monday at the South Dock location at East Hampden Avenue and Chambers Road.
