AURORA | Aurora’s convention and visitor’s bureau, Visit Aurora, is celebrating diversity in a new rebranding campaign that launched Tuesday focusing on city visitors.
“Our rebranding campaign represents the true spirit of Aurora – a city that stands tall with its diversity, embraces creativity, and celebrates individuality without reservation,” Bruce Dalton, CEO & President of Visit Aurora, said in a statement. “We believe that the cultural fabric of our city is what makes us exceptional, and this campaign reflects our dedication to making Aurora a destination that welcomes everyone with open arms.”
Visit Aurora, the city’s destination marketing organization, worked with MMGY Global, a travel branding agency, to work on the rebranding campaign for the city, according to a press statement released on Tuesday.
More than 160 languages are spoken by Aurora residents and is one of the most diverse cities in the country, according to the press statement.
The campaign, titled “Our Story, Our Way” is “an invitation to explore a city that embraces the unexpected and thrives on the creativity that flows through its streets.” The campaign includes multimedia content, social media posts, videos and interactive experiences.

I commend Bruce Dalton and Visit Aurora for their efforts and creativity. Unfortunately, there isn’t much in Aurora to attract tourists of any color. This is because our City Council — at the direction of state party leadership— insists that Aurora forever remains a shithole.
Denver’s big 5 venues take the about the first 63% of the cultural facilities sales tax collected in Aurora and less than 9% of the money collected stays here.
No one on Council has the political courage to call out this fraud. You see, the cocktail party circuit around Denver’s big five is fertile ground for political fundraising and no one wants to upset the wealthy donors.
Aurora”s lack of culture and fun has been carefully curated for us by the state leaders of the Democratic and Republican parties — and so few are willing to call out the 30-plus years of inequity that defines the Denver Scientific and Cultural Facilities District. It operates as a
Ponzi Scheme straight up.
After 30-plus years, Aurora suffers from a Stockholm Syndrome. Our cultural non-profits beg in fear like orphans for their Tier 3 slice — not realizing that their funding could triple under an Aurora cultural district with no change to the tax rates. “But we’re not worthy…”
Think I’m exaggerating about the Ponzi scheme Stockholm Syndrome? Just picture in your mind the Denver Arts Museum alongside Aurora’s Fox Theater. That’s what state party leadership has dealt us for 30+ years.
