Editor: I read your piece on car thefts. I think you are full of baloney.

How about the poor people that need that car to get to work and buy food for their family. I didn’t see an answer in your piece. Something needs to be done. How about giving some good ideas to fix the problem. Do you just think its going to go away?

  1. It’s not the editor’s job to solve any problem, much less the car theft problem in Aurora. However, I’m sure that if someone had an idea that he thought might work, he would offer that. And in fact any of us can chime in with our own ideas.

    They should carry full coverage insurance #3

  4. I only see police at wrecks, and then there are at least FOUR cruisers. I live 2 blocks off Havana, where, in the last year, one car was stolen and two stolen cars were dumped, one a mother’s car with her baby equipment and the other ignored until it got stripped right on the street! Havana’s signs are regularly flattened, maybe during night racing.
    I guess there are just too many enticing donut shops nearby.
    And, yes, we should have insurance, but 1. Reimbursement is not immediate, 2. It is rarely replacement-based, and 3. This is a horrible time to be forced to purchase a vehicle!
    Catch car thieves(and converter thieves) and throw them in jail for the angst and cost to their victims!
