EDITOR: Four years ago, our son Andrew told us he wanted to go out for football, and after that season that he was going to participate in shot put and discus in track.
During the last four years, we have watched him and his teammates at Vista Peak play games and participate in meets in Aurora and the Denver metro area, Parker, Elizabeth, Limon, Mead, Fort Morgan, Fort Lupton, Keenesburg and clinics at Colorado State University and Colorado State University-Pueblo.
We have gotten to meet and know great people: athletes, cheerleaders, parents, trainers and coaches from Vista Peak and other schools, and have really enjoyed the experience.
Special events were helping other parents host the cookouts following the pre-season football scrimmages and the team meals prior to home football games.
Bob Hope had it right when he sang, “Thanks for the Memories.” I am thankful for the memories we have.
