LONGMONT, Colo. | Attorneys for a woman accused of cutting an unborn baby from another woman’s womb are asking that comments the mother’s appearance on the Dr. Phil show be excluded from evidence.
The Daily Times-Call reports (https://bit.ly/1PXZQQA ) attorneys for 35-year-old Dynel Lane have cited 18 specific things 27-year-old Michelle Wilkins said on the September episode of the show, including comments regarding the viability of her baby, who did not survive, and her comments on motherhood and family life.
Prosecutors say the judge does not need to rule on the interview and that the defense can object as needed during trial.
Lan is charged with attempted murder, unlawful termination of a pregnancy and multiple counts of felony assault. Prosecutors say she attacked Wilkins on March 18. Wilkins survived but the fetus did not.
