YOUR NEWS: Volunteers needed to build new trail in Aurora Open Space

YOUR NEWS | The state’s largest outdoor stewardship organization, Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC), is seeking volunteers aged 12 and up for a volunteer project on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Pronghorn Natural Area in Aurora.

The project will utilize up to 150 volunteers in building a natural-surface trail in the newly accessible open space, home to 848 acres of prairie and wildlife including Pronghorn Antelope, Mule and Whitetail Deer, and various raptor and bird species. Upon completion, volunteers will have helped open new recreation opportunities in the area for visitors and residents alike.

Participation in the project is free and VOC will provide a light breakfast and lunch for all volunteers. To register for the project, visit or contact Jamie Burke at 303-715-1010 ext. 116.

The project is just one of many that VOC is hosting throughout the year to address stewardship needs throughout the state. To learn more about Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC), visit or call 303-715-1010.
