Editor: I am very concerned about the intersection of South Sable Blvd. & E. 4th Ave. I have witnessed countless near-misses at this intersection, and with the addition of hundreds of new apartments, all of which will have to use this intersection, accidents are inevitable.
Pedestrians cross Sable to get to bus stops on the corners in addition to all of the vehicle traffic crossing Sable, making left turns, U-turns, etc. — usually at high speeds. I’ve been advised that Aurora has received funds for traffic lights from the developer, but that 2023 will be the earliest that lights will be installed, if they decide they are needed. I wonder how many fatalities it will take to get Aurora government to respond to this dangerous, soon to be even more dangerous, situation.
