HOMETOWN PRIDE: Student Athletic and Extracurricular History in Aurora

One of the display cases in the Aurora History Museum’s new “Hometown Pride: Student Athletic and Extracurricular History in Aurora” chronicles some of the highlights of Aurora Central High School’s illustrious history in track & field, which includes remarkable achievements for graduates Rhonda Blanford-Green and Pat Manson. Blanford-Green is the current commisioner for the Aurora-based Colorado High School Activities Association and also a recent inductee into the Nebraska Sports Hall of Fame, while Manson was the Colorado state record holder in the pole vault. The Hometown Pride exhibit runs through Sept. 29 and is free the public. (Photo by Courtney Oakes/Sentinel Colorado)
