AURORA | Aurora police have arrested a teenager in connection with a fatal shooting in north Aurora Sunday night.

Investigators arrested Darius Banks, 19, late on July 14 and charged him with a pair of class-four felony charges: manslaughter and attempting to influence a public servant, according to information released by the Aurora Police Department.

Authorities responded to the intersection of East 13th Avenue and Newark Street shortly after 7 p.m. on July 14 after receiving reports of a shooting and car crash, according to information released by the Aurora Police Department.

Investigators found a man in the passenger seat of a vehicle who had been shot, police said. The unidentified man later died at a local hospital. The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office is expected to identify the man after his family is notified. 

The Aurora Police Major Crimes/Homicide Unit is investigating this shooting.
