Soft rock easy listening is for waiting rooms and the afterlife. Long live rock’n’roll. The Colorado Symphony will present the 2019 Colorado Symphony Ball, Speak Easy Rock Hard, on April 6 at the Fillmore Auditorium. Local rock band, The Originators, will rock out along with the Colorado Symphony’s full orchestra. Special guests will include Governor Jared Polis, First Gentleman Marlon Reis, Mayor Michael B. Hancock, and First Lady Mary Louise Lee.
The event, to be hosted by 9NEWS’ Kim Christiansen, also features a cocktail hour, silent and live auction, dinner, dancing and presentation of the Margaret Phipps Award — which recognizes outstanding contributions and service to the Colorado Symphony and arts community. Speak Easy Rock Hard serves as the organization’s largest fundraising event of the year, with proceeds supporting the symphony’s operations and programs.
