AURORA | Regulations may soon be loosening for food truck businesses in Aurora. City lawmakers are expected to discuss a draft of more lenient rules during the body’s study session on Monday.

The proposed rule changes for food trucks are:

  • Extending operating hours from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Allowing food trucks to operate 175 feet from a restaurant if the restaurant gives permission.
  • Allowing food trucks within 50 feet of a house if it’s operating in accessory to another business.

That could mean food trucks could serve outside of breweries across the city.

At the study session, council members are also slated to discuss a proposed ordinance to reduce identity theft and revise the Mobile Home Task Force recommendation report.

Council members may decide at the formal meeting to require a seven-day stay of execution for court-surrendered animals, award contract bids and rezone two parcels of land in Aurora.
