Football: John Schultz steps down at Grandview to “recharge batteries,” after long run that included state title

Over nearly 30 years of coaching football in high school, the batteries have worn down for John Schultz, who is ready for a recharge. He believes the best way to do that is to not coaching again for awhile and enjoy life with his family, so he’s decided to step down from the head coaching job at Grandview High School that has yielded 150 victories and a Class 5A state championship in the past 16 years.
