US says chemical maker Chemours to pay $450M to settle ‘forever chemicals’ case

The Trump administration has reached a $450 million settlement with Chemours Co. over years-long, illegal discharges of synthetic “forever chemicals” used to make products resistant to water, grease and stains, which will require Chemours to pay a civil penalty, install pollution controls, and provide clean drinking water to communities near its facilities.
