AURORA | A look at some of the events involving Aurora winter prep sports teams scheduled for Friday, Jan. 30 or Saturday, Jan. 31 2026, as compiled by Sentinel Sports Editor Courtney Oakes:

AURORA PREPS WHAT TO WATCH, 1.30-1.31.26

BOYS BASKETBALL: The entirety of competition is set for 7 p.m. Friday with a slate that includes seven conference games that involve eight Aurora teams. Two of the three teams that currently share the lead in the Continental League meet at 7 p.m. at Chaparral, as Regis Jesuit (10-6, 4-0 and winner of five straight) visits the Wolverines (14-2, 4-0 and winner of seven in a row). The lone head-to-head matchup with area squads is set at Overland, where the host Trailblazers (7-9 overall, 1-2 in Centennial League) welcome in Eaglecrest (11-5, 1-2). Cherokee Trail (12-4, 2-1) has a big home contest against Cherry Creek (12-3, 3-0) in another clash in the Centennial League. Rangeview — which has won six straight games and is 12-3 overall and 5-0 in City League play — plays host to Northfield (9-6, 1-4) and will honor the decade anniversary of a memorable 2015-16 team at halftime.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: All competition on the hardwood is scheduled for Friday, including some important Centennial League contests. A key 5:30 p.m. contest is set for Overland, with the 12-4 Trailblazers (1-2 in Centennial League) home to Eaglecrest (13-3, 2-1), while at the same time, Smoky Hill (11-4, 1-2) pays a visit to Mullen (3-12, 0-3) and Cherokee Trail (14-2, 2-1) welcomes in Cherry Creek (3-12, 1-2). The Continental League standings are tightly bunched at the top and Regis Jesuit (12-5, 3-1) has an important 7 p.m. home contest against Chaparral (10-7, 2-2) as it seeks to bounce back from its first league defeat.

BOYS WRESTLING: Eaglecrest plays host to Legacy in a 6 p.m. Friday dual. …League championship tournaments take place at multiple locations as Cherokee Trail, Eaglecrest, Grandview, Overland and Smoky Hill head to Arapahoe High School for the Centennial League Championships, which begin at roughly 8 a.m. Regis Jesuit is among the entries in the Continental League Championships, which open at 8 a.m. at Legend High School in Parker, while Hinkley, Rangeview and Vista PEAK Prep head to Denver South High School at 9 a.m. for the City League Championships.

GIRLS WRESTLING: Eaglecrest, Overland and Smoky Hill take part in the Centennial League Championships, which begin at roughly 8 a.m. Saturday at Arapahoe High School, while the Continental League Championships — which include Regis Jesuit — take place at Douglas County High School in Castle Rock at 9 a.m., the same time Vista PEAK Prep competes in the City League Championships at Denver South High School.

GIRLS SWIMMING: The “B” League championship meets take place at multiple locations and all begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, with Smoky Hill playing host to Cherokee Trail, Eaglecrest, Grandview and Overland, while Regis Jesuit goes to Heritage High School and Aurora Central, Gateway, Hinkley and Rangeview head to the Manual High School.

ICE HOCKEY: Regis Jesuit has a home-road back-to-back that begins with a 6:30 p.m. contest Friday at Family Sports Center against Monarch, while the Raiders head to APEX Ice Arena at 7:45 p.m. Saturday to meet Ralston Valley, Grandview has a road-road back-to-back that begins at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Monument Ice Rinks with a game against Lewis-Palmer, followed by a 3:10 p.m. Saturday puck drop at Family Sports Center against Heritage. The Cherry Creek co-op team has a showdown with Valor Christian at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at South Suburban Sports Complex.
